USA Today featured scenic biking trails in Carlsbad, saying the different biking trails are both challenging and enjoyable.
“Carlsbad, a scenic coastal city in Southern California, is located approximately 35 miles north of downtown San Diego. The city is blessed with year-round mild weather, making it an outdoor cycling enthusiast’s paradise. In 2001, Carlsbad added 38 miles of open trail space and 48 miles of bike lanes along the city’s roadways.”

Family-Friendly Bike Trails
San Diego’s official tourism website meanwhile published an information guide on family friendly cycling trails in the county. One of the suggested starting points is in Carlsbad.

Carlsbad Coastal Rail Trail – Starting in North County, the Carlsbad Coastal Rail Trail runs along the train tracks, making it a whole lot of fun for the kids to see the trains up close! The website Outdoor Active for its part shared the best cycling routes along Carlsbad. They classified it based on their suggested routes for bicycle riding, mountain biking, road biking, and long distance cycling.
